So I have not posted in quite a while. But I am testing this currently using flickr.com. Check it out, its a photo catogrizing sight for everything from architecture to food. Plus it provides support to post a picture and write the post right from the flickr site. much suggested.

Its been forever

So its been forever since my last post, well over a month. But im looking at some new changes and possiably shifting my blog to a server with database and PHP support so I can use wordpress for more felxibality, although I do have the coolest blog on blogger. I will inform you guys(if your there) of any changes I make. And happy new year, hope you had fun because I know I did.

This sucks, even though the show was going by the wayside, at least it was something remotley geeky to watch. People who were fired were Alex Albrecht, Co-Host, Yoshi, Mod Master, Dan Huard, and other behind the scenes producers. Obviosuly G4 has no idea how to run a TV Station. After Pat was fired I wasnt sure what was going to happen, its not the same show anymore, and after this I can only guess its going to get worse. Sorry to all those that lost there jobs.

Bit Torrent- Originially conceived as a way to distribute Linux ISO files, it uses one of the fiest Peer-to-Peer technologies using something call .torrent files which contains all the information for connecting to other users to get the actually file. This is where I personally get all my TV shows, movies, applicationgs/programs and whole albums. great source of .torrent files is www.suprnova.org. The client I use is the standard pretty much, Azureus.
Ares Lite- This is the program that I most use if I want to get a quick app(application) or mp3 with out having to go through www.suprnova.org. Connection is the best ive seen through standalone P2P clients
Kazaa Lite Resurrection- After Kazaa took down the original Kazaa Lite K++ edition, a few bored programmers brought it back to life with its new and present incarnation as Kazaa Lite Resurrection, I also use this to get a quick app or mp3.
IRC- Although somewhat complicated to use and not as straight forward as some of the other alternatives that I have described, it can be useful. Use what I have tough to so far and get mIRC(if your using windows) and use websites such as www.packetnews.com or www.ircspy.com and search for your desired file or media, and then get all the bot information and use the following command:/msg [botname] xdcc send #[packetnumber]
while filling in the alloted information, the bot will ask you to connect and click yes(NOTE: check to see that your firwall and filesharing options are correct before you do this)

Wardriving

So yesterday I went wardriving, wasnt to shabby. Found an immense amount of networks in a short period of time, once I got around 30-40 networks in 5 minutes using integrated wireless. Some of the SSIDs that we found via Netstumbler were funny, such as "WEPenabledBiaotch" and others. In total id say we found a couple hundred for a good 3 hours worth of driving. The filiming went alright, although more will probably be needed. All in all it was a good geeky saturday.

currently im working on a movie review of Team America: World Police and the peer-to-peer rundown.

I havent posted in a while, though ive been busy. I hope to have a rundown and mini-tutorial for those wishing to take the plunge into the world of P2P filesharing.

Today though, I went to the first meeting for STLP(Student Technology Leadership Program). It was better than expected. For the project due soon in november 11th I think, (2 days after Halo 2) the unanimous decision to do WarDriving and Installing Linux on Xbox was decided. Albeit id rather have Xebian than Gentoox as the Distro of choice for the Linux install, but that may be decided later.

MOVIE REVIEW: Shaun of the Dead

This comical romp hails from merry olde England, and with that is dry British humor similar to the Monty Python movies. The acting is superb by keeping the laughs coming. The script also accomplishs this along with the directing all summing up to a great film. The laughs can be had by everyone. Although, the interspersed serious moments seem out of place and are to ambitous. Subtleties such as Kernkraft 400's-Zombie Nation are welcomed with delight. All in all I give Shaun of the Dead a 4/5 stars.

1) Mozilla Firefox-Browser-With a built in pop-up blocker and a very responsive load time from startup it is a much better alternitive to IE.
2) Adaware SE-Spyware Scanner-Run a scan now and then and keep your system clean of all that malicious software running in the backgorund out there. Alternative: SpyBot- Search and Destroy
3) Winamp-Media Player-Great media player, will play any form of Audio file you throw at it and plus it has new features such as internet TV and radio.
4) ZoneAlarm-Firewall-The best free Firewall out there, keep those nosy script kiddies out with the best firewall a click can buy.
5) Gaim-IM Client-A great lighter Open Source alternitve to AIM, it can message AIM, MSN, Yahoo and several other IM standards.
